Costume for the production

These are the connotations of red, not all of them relate to the film
I am making but the Colour red is significant in it, through the
possession of the girls red shoes, and the anger that she
feels.

I have chosen to use a red coat as it links with the color of the shoes, and makes the connotations of red stand out more. The Red coat does not look particularly modern, but at the same time doesn't look particularly old, which is good because it would fit in any period of time that the film is set in.

Both of the girls will be wearing the same costume, as they are playing the same character but at different ages. They will be wearing plain black tights on their legs to keep the rest of their outfit plain and simple, putting emphasis on the red. - I got the inspiration for this from the film "Schindler's List" as in a particular scene there is a little girl that wears a red coat which makes her more significant and stand out from the rest of the film that is in black and white.

The girls will also be wearing the red shoes, which is the key feature in the film. The shoes are shiny and classy which is ironic because what is happening to her is messy and horrible.
